Rift Zone 2 27.5 Bike MY26
If you're about to make your first full suspension mountain bike purchase, or you're a seasoned rider in the market for a second bike, this could be the bike for you. If you're a long time rider and a friend has just asked you “what bike should I buy?” then this bike has got to be at the top of the list.
The latest Rifty 2's front and rear suspension is made by Marzocchi; basically simplified and re-branded Fox suspension. Great reliability, simple adjustment and an unbeatable performance to cost ratio. Shimano Deore 12 speed shifter, mech and even cassette provide smooth shifting.
So many new bikes seem to be specced with "those will do" tyres, but the Rifty 2 now rolls out the door on the top dollar Maxxis tyres we often get asked to fit to really expensive bikes; MaxxGrip Assegai on the front and a MaxxTerra DHR II on the back, both on EXO+ carcasses. Decent tyres make a huge difference to how a bike rides and these are spot on for the type of riding we do in the UK. Maxxis EXO+ offers more puncture and pinch-flat resistance without making the bike feel dulled descending or adding unnecessary drag climbing.
Wheel sizes change depending on frame size, with the medium being available in both 27.5 and 29".
Key upgrades over Rift Zone 1:
- Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork and Bomber Air Inline rear shock.
- Shimano 12 Speed drivetrain.
- Maxxis EXO+ tyres
